Quick cookies.

So this was definitely not one of my favorite baking adventures.
Well, it doesn't help that I don't like very chocolatey things. And all I had was Semi-Sweet chocolate chips which are always a bad idea.

<---
This is I creamin' up those sugars and shortening.

These are Chocolate Crunch Cookies (without the crunch)
-2 1/2 cups of purpose flour
-1 tsp. Baking soda
-1 tsp. Salt
-1 cup Shortening
-3/4 cup Sugar
-3/4 cup Brown Sugar
-2 eggs
-3/4 cup Semi-Sweet chocolate chips melted
-1/2 cup chopped pecans (Gross! Don't add.)

Add baking soda, salt, and flour together and sift. (Found out what Sift means. . .Strain them to avoid clumps!!)
Cream shortening and sugars.
Beat eggs. Then blend all together and stir in melted chocolate.

<---- This is my dear friend Gabriel helping with the melted chocolate portion of things.
End results. A little crumbly but freshly baked they tasted quite well. After they sat a moment they weren't as good. . . I also sped the process into a 25 minute ordeal and that's with cooking two 10 min bathes.

Chicken Alfredo anyone?

 Chicken Alfredo Pasta!
Grabbed some chicken, noodles, and mushroom alfredo sauce. Chopped the chicken and cooked it in a sauce pan. Boiled up some noodles. Once they were both cooked thoroughly I combined them into a bowl and poured some sauce on.
So wonderful! And really easy. Took about thirty minutes.
This is coming from a girl who learned to boil water 7 months ago. . . I've come a LONG way with cooking. And hope to keep furthering my skills.
This is what happens when too many people start telling you you can't do something and you have to prove them wrong!
One very happy redhead!! So delicious.

Sunday homemaking adventure!

Look at me knead that dough!! And make those cute little bun sized balls.

What an adventure cooking and baking has turned out to be. Last year I barely knew how to use a stove. . . Now look at me. Homemade buns with sloppy Joes! Made the bread by myself. One life line was used. Phone a great friend, Pauline, she informed me of what letting yeast, oil, water, and honey "rest" entailed.

Here's the Sloppy Joe part. Super easy! I could handle that like it was nothin'.

Milk.

Thank you Milk!

Thank you for being there when my cereal is lonely. When my cocoa needs moisture. When my cookies need dunking. When my cake needs to swim. When I can't sleep and you warmed up is the only thing to calm me. Thank you milk for always being here for me!

The above is what reads on this week's milk carton. Show a little Respect for your #1 bone and muscle building beverage. Have you thought about all milk does for you? It's a lot. And this week I have chosen to show my appreciation for it. THANK YOU MILK!! 1 1/2 gallons a week baby! :)
